Ahoi!

My name is Ev, you read that correctly, without a,e oder i. Yes, that`s my real birth name. I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Rügen. As you can tell from my logo, I`m a Baltic kid through and through ;)!

And now the real deal: Music and art are like the air we breathe to me. With those outlets I can process and express my thoughts, feelings and questions. Therefore my song are mostly based on personal experiences and moments.

I`m convinced, that everyone has an impact on the people they meet. That`s why it occurred to me to call myself Evects as an artist.

My love for song writing was especially strong during my time in America. I met so many amazing and interesting people there, that really left a mark and encuraged me. That`s why, between other things, I learned playing the guitar while staying in Los Angeles. Which I enjoy with great plessure now and is very helpful in the song writing process. I keep having new creative ideas for projects, even music video productions.

I love working with all different kinds of artists, which is often the beginning of various exciting projects. Most of them are still in progress.

In 2018 I entered the '36.German Rock & Pop award' contest. My song 'Love is a bird' won in the category best electronical artist. That was an astonishing experience for me! ... Wait a sec – electronical artist_ No `electronical voice` therefore E.V. - that`s my name! Why didn`t I think of this already? I`ve always loved this modern, cool music and being able to dance to it. Life mostly has two sides anyways. Even melancholical things or more serious subjects can be formed into dancable electro pop songs. Always think positive!

Meanwhile I am mainly concentrating on this genre and changing my songs into electro pop music.

Talking about pop music: It has always - from when I was a little girl until now - accompanied and excited me. I love strong lyrics and tunes. To make them become one unit is exactly my thing!

Love Is A Bird

Well, this video has a harsh background and yes, I wanted it to be like that. Why close your eyes, when you know that reality is the way it is. You know what I mean? We've been thinking for a long time, how best to transmit this message, making those real problems look better than they are wasn't an option. The opposite was the case: addiction, alcohol, drugs and games, also sexual abuse and taking away peoples power - let all this go! Let all the bad stuff go and come back to your true self. Love is the answer! Love yourself too! To own something or someone is never the answer. Love is like a bird, let this bird free...

Shadow Behind You

I wrote this song while I was an Aupair in Amerika. My grandma died during that time and sadly I couldn't properly say goodbye. This song helped me deal with the loss and cope with the pain. I love playing this song with my guitar, but it's great how much happier the new version sounds. Now one can dance to it and moan the past in a good mood. I believe we will see our loved ones again! This song became another meaning for me as well: Be brave and overcome your shadows! Leave your old self behind! Thanks to Moritz Hinkelmann for this remix production.

Truth n' Lies

What's the truth? What's the lies? How even knows that for sure. Aren't we all cought in our own 'bubble' and can't really see the whole thing? How could we though? There are so many different kinds of people with different experiences and points of view. And then all the media, that make it hard for us to find the truth. Do kids have this problem too? No, and that's why I think we should be kid again every now and then and not think about all the problems and just 'dance them off'. This song was composed in 2015 and developed over the years..

Dein Weg (Remix)

First I wrote "Your way" as a ballade in 2013. After my girlfriend liked the song so much, I decided to record it. Well, it turned out a bit sad and I have to admit, that I stopped liking the style of that kinda music. That's why we made a remix of it... Thanks to Chiccoree the song turned into a danceable remix. Can you understand everything in life? Art & music don't need a specific language. "Some accompany you, some stop. You don't have to understand it. You just have to keep going. It's your way that you're going!"

As Free As A Bird (Unplugged)

"As free is a bird" was created during my time as Aupair in Los Angeles. First I wrote it as a poem while staying with my first host family. When I changed my host family and spend the rest of my time in California, I was lucky that my host dad had a guitar. He showed me a few chords and with those chords I wrote a melody to my poem. During this time I joined a singer/ songwriter course. After that, I developed the lyrics if the song with my new skills. Now I even wrote German songs and one in 'Kölsch' dialekt. Dies ist das Original. Das Lied "Dein Weg" habe ich 2013 als Ballade auf der Gitarre geschrieben und, nachdem meine Freundin das Lied so toll fand, habe ich mich entschlossen, es aufzunehmen. Na ja, es ist schon etwas traurig geworden, muss ich zugeben, aber damals entsprach das meiner Stimmung.
